Methow River Lodge and Cabins

I absolutely love this area. For such a small city it has a lot to offer. Miss Kathie greeted us and was so friendly. I can honestly say I have never had a welcome like that anywhere else. It’s usually check in and walk away, but Kathie was nothing like that. We weren’t sure where we were going to eat and she asked if we wanted some suggestions. She gave some recommendations for a variety of places so we had choices. That was out of the ordinary as I feel most people tell you what they like. The rooms were very clean and even though I normally don’t sleep well when I travel I slept great! It was so quiet and peaceful! I didn’t hear a thing but the water when I opened the sliding glass door. We had a nice view of the river right from our back door. We weren’t able to hike where we wanted to due to snow, so if we come back to try it again, we will definitely stay here again. More places need a Miss Kathie…she was so sweet and kind. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place to stay!

We stayed a few nights at this lodge after a recommendation from a co-worker. Very clean rooms and nice comfy bed. Every night we sat outside on the balcony to watch deer roaming around. The creek is behind the lodge which is nice to sit by. This is off a little bit from downtown Winthrop which is perfect for us but within walking distance. Very friendly staff. Thank you

We love Methow River Lodge and Cabins so much!! We have stayed in a smaller cabin and the larger cabin now, and had such a great time both times! The cabins are always so clean and come with hot tubs that are also very well kept/tended. I appreciate that the cabins come stocked with useful/popularly requested items such as extra blankets, fans for the summer, and hot tub towels! The stocked coffee bar and bathroom toiletries are also very appreciatedThe river view is lovely, as is the view of Silver Star Mountain in the distance, and we have seen marmots, deer, and wild turkeys in and around the property. I also just found out they offer continental style breakfast for guests and also have bikes you can rent to get around town! The property is well kept and everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. I already can't wait to book another future stay!!

My room was spacious, clean, and inviting. AC works very well. The bed was comfy and even though we are near a road, it was pretty quiet.

What a great place to stay. I was visiting family in Mazama and Winthrop but wanted a place of my own for a night. The hotel is next to the river and with the window open I could hear it. The room was clean and decorated in NW Country with the knotty pine and all! The best part is it is a nice stroll over a pedestrian bridge and next to the ice skating rink. Great short walk to Winthrop shops and cafes. This town likes its baked goods. Since I was there the first week in October (and mid-week), the leaves had just started changing colors and some of the shops were on reduced hours but still delightful.

We LOVED the Methow River Lodge! Our riverside room was spotless & spacious, the outdoor private patio, along the pristine Methow River, was the perfect end-of-day retreat. Ample parking was perfect and a short drive took us to the rustic & charming downtown area of Winthrop. Thanks for taking such great care of us at check-in, Jocelyn!

The lodge and cabins are in a great location not far walking distance into town. We were here for a hockey tournament, so proximity to the outdoor rink was great. Some of the team rented cabins and this look pretty amazing with hot tubs in each one. Some of the team did say the hot tubs weren’t all that hot temperature wise. We had a problem with our shower the first day with no hot water. It’s been many years since I had to take an ice cold shower and it wasn’t pleasant at all. After letting the front desk know about the issue, we were told they’ve been having troubles with the hot water heaters, but were able to get it fixed. The breakfast is typical patched foods, cereals, and a waffle maker with yogurts, milk, and coffee all available. Overall a decent place to stay. This is the third time in Winthrop and the third hotel, and I’d say this is probably the best out of the three so far.

Great location just steps from XC ski trails and Winthrop Ice Rink, with a view of the river as well. The bedrooms in the 2 bedroom cabin are a nice size, with comfy beds. Nice communal living space and kitchen. Appreciate the hot tub on the deck! The office staff was very friendly and helpful. And- free breakfast!
